Abstract:
The study on Factors Affecting Smoking Behavior in Adolescent and The Effective Development Program of Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Reducing Smoking Behavior in out of School Adolescent, which is a mixed Methodology that contain: Quantitative, Developmental and Experimental Research; in order to investigate the relations between factors affecting smoking behaviors and smoking behaviors, to develop programs to reduce smoking behaviors by applying factors from the early stages of the study to develop the program to reduce smoking behaviors, to study the results of the program to reduce smoking behaviors from the samples after joining the program. The research tools are the questionnaire and the development program to reduce smoking behaviors. The questionnaires are collected by the total number of 600 in out of school adolescent. The experimental research is derived from the FTND questionnaires (Scollo and Winstanley, 2008). It scores between 4-5 which is indicated the risk of smoking behavior in the total number of 34 drinkers. 20 persons are selected as a sampling group which is divided into 2 groups, 10 persons each. The first-10-persons group is called the controlled group and the second-10-person group is called the voluntary group. Both groups will have to attend the activities provided and observed the pre-test, post-test and follow-up tests. For the data collected by experimental research gathers from the sample groups who attended the program by 8 interviewees. The data is analyzed by statistical analysis: elementary statistics, Multiple Regression Analysis , Paired Samples-t-test and Independent Samples-t-test. Research findings, Quantitative research, the factors family relationship have the relations to smoking behaviors were statistically significant at the 0.05. Therefore, these variables would be taken to develop the program in phase 2 of the study. Developmental research, in order to reduce smoking behaviors was the application of family relationship factors that were related to smoking behaviors combined with the cognitive behavior therapy of Beck (1967) and future orientation which comprised 3 steps, 8 group activities, 8 times, 06-06 minutes for each, once a week and continuously for 06 weeks. The quality of instrument was examined and brought to trial (Try Out) before use as noted in instrument design. Experimental Research, This was the assessment of smoking behaviors and future orientation in the pre-test, post-test, and follow-up test both within and between the groups, the experimental group and the controlled group. As a result from the experiment, it revealed that after the samples in experimental group attended the program to reduce smoking behaviors, the quantity of smoking behaviors has more decreased than those in the controlled group and their future orientation has also been higher. Thus, the program to reduce smoking behaviors that the researcher has created can actually decrease smoking behaviors.
