Abstract:
Objectives: To study of management system of smoking cessation service in chronic non- communicable disease patients Methods: This was a qualitative observation study by 30 minutes face-to-face interview utilizing a semi-structured questionnaire. We studied in chronic non-communicable disease patients accessed and healthcare providers working in smoking cessation clinics in 8 public hospitals in Phayao which were registered with Ministry of Public Health in Phayao province. The information had been from recording during interview, taking notes and documents include general information, procedure of smoking cessation service. Data Triangulation and Methodology triangulation were used to analysis contents and Member checking was used to be accurate and reliable of information. Results: All of hospitals thoroughly had servicing for smoking cessation service. Their work flow followed to the smoking cessation guideline but some processes were adapted on their own for being suitable to socio-cultural context. Every patient satisfied in smoking cessation service. However, Management system of smoking cessation service in chronic non- communicable disease patients had obstacles about patient tracking with assessment smoking cessation outcome and lacking of same standard key Performance Indicators. Conclusion: This study will lead to a better understanding of how to Management system of smoking cessation service in chronic non-communicable disease patients. Further study using participatory method might help to improve smoking cessation performance in community hospitals.
